Community organizers from the Christian Activities Council (CAC) visited with over 30 residents displaced from a fire which gutted their Vine Street apartment building in late July 2015. What the organizers found were residents facing imminent homelessness after a short two week stay at the Super 8 Motel in Hartford.

On November 21, 2024 GHIAA launched campaigns around affordable housing, fiscal policy reform, and combating racial and religious hate. Over 1,000 leaders filled Weaver High School auditorium to stand up to inequity and injustice in our state.
In response to several concerns affecting athletics at Weaver High School, CAC’s organizers held a meeting with over 30 parents and a number of athletes to better understand the issues.

On July 26, 2015 a two-alarm fire caused 18 low income families to be displaced from their apartment on Vine Street in Hartford.
