Hartford Public Schools is leading a process called Equity 2020 to determine what schools to close and consolidate in the City of Hartford. The first round of proposals were released, without input from Equity 2020 members, on October 13. Since then many parents, community leaders, and organizations have reacted to the proposals which, if any of the three were implemented, disproportionately impact neighborhood schools, particularly in Hartford’s North End. Please take time to review the proposals, read the reaction from parent leaders and community members, and consider getting involved in shaping a solution that is truly equitable for our kids and neighborhoods.
