GHIAA Solidarity Vigil

Over 500 GHIAA and Hartford Deportation Defense leaders filled the lawn at Church of Christ Congregational in Newington to stand up for the 7 residents taken from their workplace by ICE agents over the weekend. At a time when families should be preparing for the school year, these families were ripped apart. Our message was clear: our many faith traditions are united in prioritizing justice and care for immigrants, and our state needs to do more to protect our immigrant neighbors. Together with HDD and other immigrant-led organizations, GHIAA is demanding data protection, prohibiting ICE from courthouses, virtual court hearings, and continued access to healthcare regardless of immigration status.
