In 2021, GHIAA won passage of legislation declaring racism a public health crisis. This recognition of the structural and systemic impacts of racism on the wellbeing of residents of color in our state, and the health disparities that result, provided important authorization and resources to understand and address the impacts of racism in our health care system and beyond.
